SHASTA COUNTY
WEST PROSPECT PEAK
Shasta-Trinity National Forest
June 9, 1938: "Gus Kramer is lookout at West Prospect for the 17th year." (The Searchlight)
January 6, 1955: "The West Prospect Lookout position was inspected. It was occupied by Armando DelTorto who was relatively new at lookout duties, having had one month's experience in 1953. It was apparent that a good training job had been accomplished with this position. No weaknesses were noted in DelTorto's ability to perform all the lookout duties necessary for this station. His housekeeping was excellent. Written job instructions were provided this position but no job list was in evidence. It is the opinion of the inspectors that minor improvement maintenance work could be more proficiently accomplished with such a job list." (1955 GII Inspection - Hat Creek District)
