May 29, 1935: "The recently organized West Side Fire Protection District of Kings County will have two fire lookout stations in operation tomorrow, ready to give alarms in case of a b laze breaking out in the Kettleman Hills or the surrounding plains.
A station at Point Lacima on the Kettleman Hills Skyline Boulevard will be connected by telephone with the Avenal and Coalinga lines through an arrangement made with various oil companies. Mr. and Mrs. O.H. Upton of Hanford will be on duty, giving twenty-four hour service." (The Fresno Bee The Republican)

June 9, 1935: "A telephone has been installed in the Point Lacima lookout station on the Kettleman Hills north dome and may be reached through the Coalinga exchange by asking for the Kettleman fire station." (The Fresno Bee The Republican)
April 29, 1936: "The Point Lacima fire lookout station on the North Dome of Kettleman Hills will open May 5, it was announced today by J.C. Griswold, who, as county fire warden, is in charge of the fire protection activities of the West Side Fire Protection district.
Guy Knapp will be in charge at the lookout station during fire hazard season. The telephone call for the station will be Avenal 3131, and anyone observing signs of fires is urged to call the station immediately. In case of such calls charges will be reversed." (The Hanford Sentinel)
April 27, 1937: "On Point Lacima, location of the lookout station on the North Dome of the Kettleman Hills, Guy Knapp will be in charge.
There will be no truck at this location, but the lookout will telephone locations of fires to the Cottonwood Pass and Kettleman City stations. The station will open May 5." (The Hanford Sentinel)
